Florida Fraternal Order of Police
Jacksonville, FL- The Florida State Lodge Fraternal Order of Police, the largest union for law enforcement officers in the state, has endorsed Assistant State Attorney Angela Corey for State Attorney for the Fourth Judicial Circuit of Florida in the 2008 Election.
“The relationship between the State Attorney’s office and law enforcement is critical,” said Angela Corey, Assistant State Attorney. “I greatly respect the work of our law enforcement officers and am honored to have the respect, support and confidence of the Florida FOP.”
Currently serving as Assistant State Attorney for the Seventh Judicial Circuit and with over 25 years of experience as a prosecutor for the State of Florida representing Duval, Clay and Nassau Counties, Corey has been responsible for putting some of the areas most dangerous criminals behind bars and on death row.
In addition to her distinguished career trial work, she has devoted an equal amount of time training police and prosecutors on a local, state and national level. Corey was appointed to the Judicial Nominating Commission (JNC) for the Fourth Judicial Circuit of Florida by Governor Jeb Bush in August of 2001 and was reappointed by Governor Bush in August of 2004.
Corey's other endorsements include Sheriff John Rutherford, Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 5-30 and Duval County Republican Executive Committee.
