JACKSONVILLE, Fla., February 6 – Angela Corey, Republican candidate for State Attorney, will pick up the unified endorsement of Jacksonville Sheriff John Rutherford, Clay County Sheriff Rick Beseler, and Nassau County Sheriff Tommy Seagraves during a press conference on Wednesday, Feb. 6 at The Jacksonville Landing. The press conference will begin at 11:00 a.m.
Corey is a candidate for State Attorney in the 4th Judicial Circuit that includes Duval, Clay and Nassau counties. The race is certain to be one of the most important local races in the upcoming campaign season, and has significant impact for all citizens living and working in the tri-county area. All three sheriffs will attend the press conference with Corey.
Crime knows no borders. The unified endorsement of the three top local law enforcement officers in the 4th Judicial Circuit is a boost to Corey’s campaign. The three sheriffs want Corey as their prosecution partner, and their endorsement of her candidacy is seen as a means to enhance the fight for justice and the protection of victims and communities from all three counties.
“Angela Corey is one of the toughest and best prosecutors I’ve ever worked with,” said Clay County Sheriff Rick Beseler. “She cares about law enforcement, but her empathy for victims is simply unmatched.”
Nassau County Sheriff Tommy Seagraves stated “I have witnessed Angela Corey in the courtroom and her devoted purpose is to seek justice. She’s a true leader… I can truly say that she diligently works hard to protect the rights of victims by taking the case to heart.”
Facing escalating violence in Duval County, Sheriff John Rutherford stated “to turn around the increased violence in our community, we must have a visible police presence, a massive community response, and an aggressive prosecutor’s office. Angela Corey will give us just that.”
