Angela Corey’s campaign for State Attorney
announces successful fundraising figures
More than $90,000 in contributions during 1st quarter of 2008
Jacksonville, Fla., April 11, 2008 – Late yesterday, Marshall Gunn, Treasurer for the Angela Corey for State Attorney Campaign announced the first quarter of 2008 was the campaign’s second highest fundraising quarter. The campaign reported $91,994.57 in contributions from January 1 through March 31, bringing total campaign contributions to $307,844.49 to date. The figure represents contributions from more than 1,500 contributors from every walk of life.
“The contribution results from the first quarter are especially rewarding, considering the main thrust during that period was in building grassroots support for the campaign,” said Corey. “After gathering almost 10,000 signatures to qualify by petition for the ballot, and in receiving the endorsement of 18 key organizations and individuals, the news of a strong quarter in contributions further validates that people are ready for change and for the restoration of justice in the 4th Judicial Circuit.”
Since January 1, Corey has secured many coveted endorsements including Duval County Sheriff John Rutherford, Clay County Sheriff Rick Beseler and Nassau County Sheriff Tommy Seagraves. Corey has also been endorsed by local police and firefighters unions, the Northeast Florida Public Employees’ Local 630, the International Longshoremen’s Association, the Clerks and Checkers Local 1593, the Duval Republican Executive Committee and numerous Republican organizations.
